Anchor bolt removals repairs and replacements

Damaged, under engineered, or out of location anchor bolts need to be removed in many cases. This may be due to anchor bolt shearing or corrosion of steel from harsh conditions or even a new bolt pattern being introduced by way of an upgrade to existing equipment or retro fit. Near surface sheared anchor bolts can be repaired using mechanical couplings or welding stud extensions. Both techniques remove and replace anchor bolt threaded regions damaged by corrosion, lateral shear, or vertical ‘cup and cone’ failures. Properly installed and incorporating appropriate metallurgical detailing, repairs as described can add significant service life to the existing anchor bolt system, once the ‘root cause’ of the failure has been determined.
